Getting Started
landing page and definitions the netx landing page shows projects and scenarios by default the switch at the top of the page allows you to switch to the groups and networks view the general structure of projects, scenarios, groups, and networks is as follows networks think of this as a "master" network where you would create the network topology as installed in the field, inclusive of wells, pipelines, compressors, separators, sources, joints, etc constraints can be added, but many scenario specific properties cannot be set on the network itself groups networks can be optionally organized into groups for example if you had multiple central processing facilities in a certain asset, you could create a group representing the asset and then create a network inside that group for each central processing facility groups are purely for organization scenarios each scenario is created from a network, and the network's topology is copied to the scenario on creation this allows you to test alternate topologies, constraints, and optimization settings without modifying the "master" network representing the actual field configuration each scenario is initialized with a type representing the type of optimization netx will atempt to solve projects scenarios can be optionally organized into groups for example, if you wanted to test the network effects of drilling new infill wells in an existing network, you could create a project containing multiple scenarios testing out alternate locations for those new wells how to use this guide the sub pages in "getting started" will walk you through creating a network and assosciated scenario for multi well gas lift optimization with wells linked to prodx while this is a simplified example, it covers the fundamentals required to create more advanced analyses
