Creating a Network
navigation to create a network, first switch to the network view on the landing page of netx create a group to facilitate organization, next we will create a group to organize our network the "+ group" icon on the left allows you to create a new group we will create one called "permian" for the sake of this exercise create a network next, click on the "+ network" icon to open the network creation form the network creation form has the following fields name we recommend that you use a descriptive and useful name for the network typically there will only be one version of each "master" network in the platform that all users will share for scenario creation description the description adds context to the network so that yourself or other users are aware of creation details group if you have previously added a group, you can assign a network to that group here groups are optional, but useful for organization type this describes the type of the network (injection, production, or combined) depending on your subscription, some options may be disabled access networks can have difference access levels public means anyone can see, edit, or use the network public read only means that only you can edit the network, but anyone can see and use it private means that only you can see, edit, or use the network for this exercise, let's create a network called "permian centralized injection" and link it to the "permian" group we created previously the type will be "injection" and we will leave the access "public" after saving, you will be redirected to the network editor see the next section for details about editing networks and adding equipment
