The NetX TimeSeries History table stores the high frequency (SCADA) measurement data for each tag registered in the [NetX TimeSeries Configuration](docId\:fE26OrXAO_PiORonB2dgt) table. The unique constraint is (**tag + timestamp**) - posting a point with an existing timestamp for the same tag UPSERTS (overwrites) the previous value.

The **TimeSeries Configuration** for a tag must exist before history can be added to it. History is identified by the equipment sourceId and the tag sourceId.

The platform also maintains **first** and **last** boundary values on each configuration - the timestamp and value of the oldest and newest stored point for the tag. These are updated automatically by the history ingest and are available when querying configurations.

Deleting a time series configuration CASCADE DELETES all of its history.
